We began the day with a double – decker bus tour of Canada’ s Capital Region, which includes Ottawa,  Ontario, the nation’s capital, and the City of Gatineau, Quebec.

Delegates went on to workshop Ottawa’s “Choosing Our Future” initiative at Ottawa’s City Hall in a World Cafe Workshop. This joint initiative brings together Ottawa, Gatineau, and the National Captial Commission (NCC)  in a mulit-year process that integrates concepts of sustainability and resiliency into all facets of regional planning and design.

The initiative acted as a case study to facilitate a knowledge exchange from PLUS Network partners around the world. Pride, initiative and a sense of belonging were identified as important factors in promoting popular support for sustainability initiatives.

Stay tuned for photos and updates of the Welcome Reception and Mosaika Sound and Light Show.
